If He Were A Superhero, His Name Would Be...

Ben is quite the little charmer these days.  His favorite thing is to stare into someone's eyes and have them talk to him.  He tries to talk back.  A lot of times when he cries, it's because no one is doing that.

We took Ben for an appointment to get his first vaccine on Monday.  I was really curious to see what his weight would be, since he was seeming like a big baby, especially when I compared him to pictures of Sophie at the same age.  Well, he weighed in at 13 lbs, 6 oz... which the doctor said was "like, 100th percentile!"  (We're not sure if it's technically possible to be 100th percentile, but you get the idea... actually, I plugged his info into an online weight percentile calculator and it said 96.9.)  So, he's BIG.  I wonder how long it will last?  But I think his chub only makes him more loveable!  :)  He's actually snug in his 3-6 month sized clothes already... I think he'll be wearing size 6-9 months before he is 3 months old.  He also has amazing head control for such a young baby... we do want to encourage him to hold his head up, but we also don't want him to hurt himself!

The sleeping is still going great.  He sleeps from about 9 or 10pm to 8 or 9am, usually waking up twice to nurse, after which he pretty much always goes back to sleep without much trouble (though I really hope I did not just jinx it!).  He's usually awake in the mornings and evenings, and naps in the afternoon at the same time as Sophie, making it possible for me to actually get my own things done (such as blog updates!).

He's a very smiley kid, as you can see in his picture for this week (6 weeks).  Not that he doesn't have his fussy times, but his favorite thing right now seems to be just looking at people's faces while they talk to him... which we are happy to do!
